On 2 November 2021 at COP-26, the EU-Catalyst-partnership between the European Commission, the European Investment Bank and Breakthrough Energy Catalyst (BEC) was announced. This innovative new partnerships seeks to support climate technology projects in order to accelerate the green transition. The EU financial contribution will come from Horizon Europe and the Innovation Fund bundled into the InvestEU Green Transition product implemented by the EIB.
As a result we wish to draw your attention to the publication of a request for projects proposals for the EU, launched by BEC Europe today 11 January 2022 [EU Request for Proposals (breakthroughenergy.org)]. The European Commission very much hopes that this open request will trigger wide interest amongst the community of EU stakeholders and potential project promoters in the four green technology areas covered in our partnership (clean hydrogen; sustainable aviation fuels; direct air capture; long-duration energy storage), especially given their important role in enabling new solutions in these areas to see the light of day.
