14 projects were selected under the ERA 2024-2 call

They will receive €29 million in total to support early-career researchers, enhance public engagement with science and promote the uptake of research results in society and the economy. 

Topic “Science comes to town”: 1 project coordinated by Germany will receive €6 million.

The project will transform three European cities into interactive science hubs, allowing citizens to connect with researchers and explore how science impacts daily life. The selected cities are: Brest (France), Kiel (Germany), and Split (Croatia). They will host in 2026 a year-long programme of science engagement which will also include the European Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) and the European Contest for Early-Career Researchers (TalentOn).

Topic “Talent ecosystems for attractive early research careers”: 10 projects coordinated by BE, GA, AT, CZ (VŠCHT), IE. EL, ES, IT, RO and RS set to receive €20 million.

These projects are expected to provide early-career researchers with better working conditions in line with the European Charter for Researchers, and career prospects by strengthening cooperation between academia, industry, and other sectors. 

Topic “Experimentation and exchange good practices for value creation”: 3 projects coordinated by Lithuania, Poland and Spain are sharing €3 million.

The projects will explore ways to accelerate the transfer of scientific knowledge into practice for the benefits of society and the economy. They will foster cooperation among academia, industry, SMEs, public authorities, policymakers, civil society, and citizens.
