Closing of the Horizon Europe Call 2024 for Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society

The European Commission has published the numbers of project proposals submitted to the Horizon Europe 2024 call in Cluster 2 - Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society. The call opened on 4 October 2023 and closed on 7 February 2024. Topics focused on research on democracy or the handling of manipulated information, ongoing changes in the protection of cultural heritage, sustainable transformation or social inequalities. In total, 737 proposals were submitted. An evaluation by independent experts is now underway. 75 projects will be funded with a total budget of €256 million. 

In the Democracy Destination, 287 project proposals were submitted to the call HORIZON-CL2-2024-DEMOCRACY-01 (12 open topics). 31 of them will be selected for funding and the total budget will be 95 million.

In the Heritage Destination, 178 project proposals were submitted to the call HORIZON-CL2-2024-HERITAGE-01 (5 open topics). 15 of them will be selected for funding and the total budget will be €65 million.

In the Transformations Destination, 272 project proposals were submitted to the call HORIZON-CL2-2024-TRANSFORMATIONS-01 (11 open topics). 29 of them will be selected for funding and the total budget will be €96 million.

The results of the evaluation will be known in June 2024. The projects themselves will start in the last quarter of 2024.
