The European Institute of Innovation and Technology plans to create a new Knowledge and Innovation Community in the Cultural & Creative Sectors and Industries. This will create new opportunities for entrepreneurial education, innovation, business creation and acceleration to power Europe’s next generation. The EIT Indicative Roadmap for 2021-2022 suggests the call opening in October/November 2021 with closure in March 2022 and evaluation until June 2022. The actual start of a new “EIT Culture & Creativity” community is expected at the end of 2022 or beginning 2023.

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) drives innovation in Europe by supporting entrepreneurs, innovators and students across Europe to turn their best ideas into reality. The EIT as a part of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe / Horizon 2020, was established in 2008 and is based in Budapest. It's core mission is to promote and integrate higher education, research and innovation. The EIT addresses major societal challenges and contributes to sustainable economic growth, competitiveness and entrepreneurship in EU member states. So far, the EIT established 8 Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) and two more will be created. These innovation communities are formed by large partnerships connecting business, education and research.
