Number of projects submitted to the Regional innovation valleys in Widening countries 2025 call

By the deadline of the Implementing co-funded action plans for connected regional innovation valleys in widening countries (HORIZON-WIDERA-2025-05) call on 15 October 2025, only two projects had been submitted. The main objective of the call was to support the creation of efficient, open, inclusive and connected European innovation ecosystems (regional valleys) in line with the New European Innovation Agenda. The EC intended to support a total of 4 projects in the work programme, each with a financial contribution of approximately EUR 5-8 million. This was a co-fund type of project, i.e. the EU contribution will cover only 50% of the eligible costs.

Applicants will be informed about the evaluation results at the end of March 2026.
