News in ERA Policy

On 26 November 2021, the Competitiveness Council of the EU adopted a Pact for Research and Innovation in Europe as the foundation of the “new ERA”, as well as a new governance framework for its implementation. Furthermore, the Council adopted a first ERA Policy Agenda for the years 2022-2024 and called on the Member States and the European Commission (EC) to work together in partnership towards its implementation. The Policy Agenda sets out 20 ERA Actions and on each of them the EC prepared and published on 8 February 2022 Explanatory Documents. A new operational body is ERA Forum and this expert group had its kick-off meeting on 14 February 2022. One of the core ERA actions are the Common Industrial Technology Roadmaps and they will accelerate transfer of research and innovation results into the market for the green and digital transformation of industries across the EU. On 8 April 2022, the EC published the first Common industrial technology roadmap for low-carbon technologies.
