Widening needs a more precise diagnosis, not more boxes - a reflection ahead of the CZEDER 2026 conference

One support framework, different countries, different barriers. How should Widening be designed in FP10 so that it helps where it is genuinely needed?

In a few weeks, we will meet in Prague 6 for the CZEDER 2026 conference, where Widening will have its own discussion session. Alongside statistics, it will feature institutions’ experiences with Teaming, ERA Chairs and Excellence Hubs. The reflection ahead of the conference raises a broader question: how should we assess whether Widening is truly fulfilling its purpose and whether its contribution lasts beyond the end of the support?
