EIT HEI 2025 call – new record in no. of proposals submitted

The EIT EIT Higher Education Initiative 2025 Call for Proposals which closed on 4th March 2026 has attracted unprecedented demand, confirming the growing momentum of innovation in Europe’s higher education sector.

  • 138 applications submitted - the highest ever
  • 1,865 organisations involved across Europe and beyond
  • 861 higher education institutions participating
  • 515 private companies engaged
  • Organisations from 61 countries, including all EU Member States
  • Strong participation from countries of the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme
  • 455 HEIs are new to the initiative, showing its expanding reach
  • At the same time, returning partners continue to engage, confirming its long-term value

The evaluation process is currently underway, and the selected projects will be announced in July 2026.
