ERA call 2025: 21 projects selected to receive EU funding

14/02/2026

The applicants to the 2025 ERA call with the deadline on 18 September 2025 have been informed in January 2026 by the EC (REA) about the evaluation results. The call attracted 113 proposals but only 108 of them were evaluated (5 proposals were inadmissible or ineligible). In total, 21 projects sharing €44 million EU funding have been selected after an independent experts’ evaluation (the call comprising of 7 topics expected the funding of 20 proposals). Most of the selected projects (15) are funded under the Topic 1, which aims to increase the uptake of results developed in different ERA policy areas such as open science, research assessment, research careers, and more. The ranking of the proposals in this topic (75 proposals) was done following a balanced portfolio approach covering the mentioned ERA policy areas. More information is here (under Topic update).
