Technology Centre Prague and the Expert Group for Supporting ERC Applicants would like to inform the Czech research community in advance about the main principles for the admission of participants to the preparatory workshops in 2026.

The workshops are still intended for the Starting and Consolidator categories. Materials sent as part of the registration (i.e., the applicant's CV and track record and an abstract of the proposed project) will be assessed on a rolling basis. Great emphasis will be placed on quality, which should correspond to the submission of a competitive ERC project application in the 2027 calls. Registrations that do not meet this requirement will not be accepted. For capacity reasons, it will not be possible to provide individual feedback to unsuccessful candidates.

Registration consists of completing the registration form according to the ERC scientific domain and immediately (within 24 hours) sending your CV, track record, and abstract by email. If the required documents are not delivered within 24 hours of online registration, the registration will not be considered valid and will be rejected.

Please refer to the detailed instructions in the attachment. To register for the workshops, please use the Starting/Consolidator 2026 project proposal template included in this news update.

In 2026, we anticipate the following calendar of individual workshops:

  • Registration opens: March 16, 2026, 12:00 p.m.
  • Registration deadline: March 22, 2026, 11:59 p.m.
  • 1st workshop:
    • 22 April 2026: Social Sciences and Humanities
    • 23 April 2026: Life Sciences
    • 24 April 2026: Physical Sciences and Engineering
  • 2nd workshop: week of May 11–15, 2026
  • 3rd workshop for Starting applicants:
    • B1 submission: May 24, 2026
    • Feedback: week of June 15–19, 2026
  • 3rd workshop for Consolidator applicants
    • B1 submission: early September 2026
    • Feedback: October 2026

We hereby ask applicants as well as representatives of project support offices to kindly pay attention to this information.

In case of questions, please contact ERC NCPs Ludmila Tysjačna (tysyachna@tc.cz) and Petra Fedorová (fedorova@tc.cz).
