FP10 to be presented on 16 July together with the Multiannual Financial Framework proposal

06/06/2025

The European Commission plans to present a proposal for the new Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for the period after 2027 in July 2025. This package will also include a proposal for the structure of the 10th Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP10). The expected date is 16 July 2025.

According to a leaked Commission calendar, FP10 will be introduced as a standalone programme, closely linked to the newly proposed European Competitiveness Fund. The aim of the fund is to support the entire innovation cycle – from basic research to the commercialisation of results.

Commission President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that FP10 will remain a standalone programme, but stressed the importance of linking it to the Competitiveness Fund.

MEP Christian Ehler warned that if the FP10 proposal lacks sufficient detail, it could weaken its negotiating position during the MFF discussions. He therefore called for timely and thorough preparation.

An opportunity to discuss FP10 priorities will also be offered by the Czech national CZEDER conference (www.czeder.cz).
