National RIS3 Strategy 2021-2027

05/10/2021

The National Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization of the Czech Republic 2021–2027 (RIS3, hereinafter also the “National RIS3 Strategy”), approved by the Czech Government on 25 January 2021, ensures coherent and effective targeting of European, national and regional funds to support oriented and applied research and innovation and directs this support to selected priority areas that have a high potential for creating a long-term competitive advantage of the Czech Republic based on the use of knowledge and innovation. The identification and development of these promising areas (intelligent specializations), builds on the strengths of the Czechia and individual regions. It strives for targeted "smart" use of the unique combination of opportunities offered by our economic background and research and innovation capacities. The main responsible body is the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) and the co-managers are the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic (RVVI) and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. You can find summary information on the MIT website.
