EIT HEI 2025 call – new record in no. of proposals submitted

The EIT EIT Higher Education Initiative 2025 Call for Proposals which closed on 4^th March 2026 has attracted unprecedented demand, confirming the growing momentum of innovation in Europe’s higher education sector.

• 138 applications submitted - the highest ever
• 1,865 organisations involved across Europe and beyond
• 861 higher education institutions participating
• 515 private companies engaged
• Organisations from 61 countries, including all EU Member States
• Strong participation from countries of the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme
• 455 HEIs are new to the initiative, showing its expanding reach
• At the same time, returning partners continue to engage, confirming its long-term value

The evaluation process is currently underway, and the selected projects will be announced in July 2026.
