Public Consultation for the Reform of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS)

Join us on 19 June for an online public consultation for the Reform of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel.

This event will gather and address both the steel and coal communities to discuss key questions for the reform of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel, which was announced in the Steel and Metals Action Plan adopted in March 2025. This event will focus on reviewing the attractiveness of the work programme run under the RFCS since 2021 and reflect on the best ways to trigger R&I investments through a new legal basis of the RFCS. It will also allow for discussing policy and competitiveness dimensions of both sectors and the current challenges they are facing.

A full agenda will be made available soon, as well as guiding questions addressed to steel and coal communities on key aspects of the RFCS.
