SCIENCE FOR SMART AND SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE

The Regional Development Agency of South Bohemia, in cooperation with the Regional Chamber of Agriculture of the South Bohemian Region, is organizing an international conference "SCIENCE FOR SMART AND SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE" under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture Zdeněk Nekula and the Governor of the South Bohemian Region Martin Kuba.

The conference is held on the occasion of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union during the 48th International Exhibition Země živitelka. It will include expert lectures and discussions on topics such as sustainable agriculture, digitization in agriculture, quality and safety of agricultural products, etc., presentations of universities, research centres and companies offering progressive solutions in the field of smart and sustainable agriculture.

The conference is a part of the Science meets Regions project of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, which aims to contribute to the development of evidence-based strategic policies and to promote regular cooperation not only between regional politicians and scientists, but also to involve business associations and citizens to create a common vision of the political priorities and tools needed to address future challenges.
