The NEB Innovation Team: an open memorandum

06/06/2024

The New European Bauhaus (NEB) Innovation Team Prague offers the opportunity to join the informal NEB platform. A NEB Memorandum has been prepared for those interested in joining the collaboration.

The NEB Innovation Team operates under the CrAFt project, which focuses on promoting the values of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) and the NEB-STAR initiative, with Czech participants including the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) and Operátor ICT (OICT Prague), a joint-stock company of the City of Prague. The aim of the project is to support the application of New European Bauhaus principles through pilot projects in the cities of Stavanger, Prague, and Utrecht.

Following the NEB-STAR project, a need emerged among municipal organizations, companies, and other stakeholders for better coordination of activities and processes related to the New European Bauhaus initiative. In response to this, the NEB Innovation Team was established in mid-2022. Its main goals are to coordinate activities and preparations related to NEB, exchange information, jointly analyze needs, opportunities, and barriers in the development of NEB, communicate these to key partners (such as the leadership of the City of Prague), and co-organize events that help bring NEB principles closer to the general public.

A similar initiative has been launched in Slovakia in the form of the New European Bauhaus Slovakia 2024 Declaration, created in April 2024. The declaration calls on Slovak urban and architectural competition organizers, educational and research institutions, cities, municipalities, and other stakeholders to consider and incorporate the principles of the New European Bauhaus.
