Cluster 3 - Civil security for society

Civil security for society funding Cluster 3 responds to the challenges arising from persistent security threats, including cybercrime, as well as natural and man-made disasters.

The expected impacts of this cluster are contained in the Horizon Europe strategic plan - in following ares of intervention: 
 * disaster-resilient societies
 * protection and security
 *
cybersecurity

EU civil security research is one of the building blocks of the Security Union. Research in this cluster supports the following policies

Funding opportunities are set out in multiannual work programme (WP). Work programme for 2021-2022 has 6 destinations: 
   *
1. Destination – Better protect the EU and its citizens against Crime and Terrorism.  (FCT)
 
  * 2.Destination – Effective management of EU external borders (BM)
   
* 3. Destination – Resilient infrastructure  (INFRA) 
   * 4.Destination – Increased Cybersecurity (CS)
   * 5. Destination - A Disaster-Resilient Society for Europe  (DRS) 
   * 6.Destination – Strengthened Security Research and Innovation  (SSRI)
